D2C ‘paan’ brand The Betel Leaf attracts $1.2 M from IPV, Venture Catalysts
Bengaluru-based D2C (direct-to-consumer) online paan startup The Betel Leaf has raised USD 1.2 million (around INR 10 crore) in a bridge funding round co-led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV) and Venture Catalysts.Founded in 2019 by Prem Raheja and Payal Raheja, The Betel Leaf sells paan and paan-based products online. The startup plans to use the fresh funding to diversify its product portfolio, to expand its retail and online presence in India and overseas within the next two years. The funds will also be used to enable the development of new automation technology.In 2021 the company raised USD 800,000 in a seed funding round led by Venture Catalysts and 100Unicorns (erstwhile 9Unicorns).
