Deepinder Goyal’s wearable startup Temple attracts $54-M from Peak XV Partners, others

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal’s startup Temple has raised USD 54 million (INR 493 crore) in seed funding, at a post money valuation of USD 190 million.Investors included Peak XV Partners, Steadview Capital, Dharana Capital and Info Edge Ventures. Over 80 individual investors participated in the fundraise, including Cred’s Kunal Shah, Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Zerodha’s Nithin and Nikhil Kamath, Mamaearth’s Varun Alagh, Cars24 founders including CEO Vikram Chopra, podcaster Raj Shamani, and Urban Company’s Abhiraj Singh Bhal.Current and former Eternal executives, including chief financial officer Akshant Goyal, Rahul Ganjoo, Aditya Mangla, and former chief people officer Akriti Chopra’s family office, also invested. Deepinder Goyal contributed INR 104 crore, making up 21% of the total funding.Temple is developing a non-invasive wearable device designed to measure cerebral blood flow. This product originated from Goyal’s longevity research venture, Continue, which explores the influence of gravity on human ageing and its link to declining cerebral blood flow. The device is targeted at athletes, aiming to measure metrics with a new level of precision not available in existing wearables.
