Defence-tech co. Sanlayan bags Rs.186-Cr from Ashish Kacholia, Jungle Ventures, others

Bengaluru-based defence-tech startup Sanlayan Technologies has raised INR 186 crore (about USD 30 million) as part of its Series A funding round led by Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, and Jungle Ventures. The round also saw participation from Shastra VC and existing investors including Gemba Capital and Singularity Ventures.The new funds will be used to develop AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar for India’s unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) program and to contribute towards programmes of strategic importance. The firm also aims to increase its engineering headcount fivefold in the next six months.Founded in 2023 by Abhijit Kothawale, Rohan Gala, and Rahul Vamsidhar, Sanlayan Technologies specialises in electronics systems for the aerospace, defence and space sectors.The startup had previously raised USD 4.4 million in its seed funding round in 2022.
