Digital infra provider CtrlS Datacenters raises Rs.7,000-Cr from CPPIB

Hyderabad-based digital infrastructure provider CtrlS Datacenters has raised a total of INR 7,000 crore from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments). The transaction includes an investment of INR 4,000 crore by CPP Investments to acquire an 8.2 per cent stake in the company. Additionally, the two firms have formed a joint venture to develop hyperscale datacenter campuses across India, for which CPP Investments has committed up to INR 3,000 crore. In this joint venture, CPP Investments will hold 48 per cent equity ownership, while CtrlS will hold 52 per cent.Founded by Sridhar Pinnapureddy, CtrlS Datacenters is a domestic data centre operator that serves the enterprise and BFSI sectors. The company intends to use the INR 4,000 crore investment to build capacity, with plans to create data centre capacity of almost 4 gigawatts. Currently, the company has 1.2 GW of capacity under construction and is in the planning stage for over 3 GW of additional capacity.
Between Oct 2008 and May 2026, CtrlS Data Centers had attracted about $ 100 M from Och-Ziff, CPPIB and others.For FY25, CtrlS Data Centers had reported about INR 1,562 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 201 Cr in PAT.
