Digital medicine startup Biofourmis raises $300-M led by General Atlantic; turns unicorn

Sequoia Capital India-backed Boston, USA-based Biofourmis, a player in virtual care and digital medicine, has turned unicorn with a USD 300 million Series D investment led by General Atlantic. CVS Health and existing investors also participated in the round. Former Medtronic CEO and chairperson at Intel, Omar Ishrak, will join the company's Board of Directors as chairman. Biofourmis plans to use the new funds to scale up virtual care offerings. To date, Biofourmis has raised USD 445 million. Existing investors include SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Openspace Ventures, Mass Mutual Ventures, Sequoia Capital India and EDBI.
