E-scooter maker Ather Energy raises Rs.1,200-Cr from existing investors

Publicly listed, Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker Ather Energy has raised INR 1,200 crore in a preferential issue from existing stakeholders including the NIIF managed India-Japan Fund, Hero MotoCorp and founders Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain.This investment is part of a broader INR 2,700 crore financing plan, which includes a planned INR 1,500 crore qualified institutional placement.The 2013 founded company plans to use the new funds to support its manufacturing capacity expansion and new product development.

Between Mar 2015 and Aug 2024, Ather Energy had attracted about $ 647 M from GIC, Hero Motocorp, InnoVen Capital, NIIF, Navam Capital, Edelweiss Private Equity, Stride Ventures, Sachin Bansal, Tiger Global, and others.For FY26, Ather Energy had reported about INR 3,672 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 517 Cr in Net Loss.
