Edtech co. Vedantu raises $11-M from ABC World Asia, existing investors

Bengaluru-based edtech company Vedantu has raised USD 11 million in a convertible notes round led by ABC World Asia, with participation from existing investors Accel and Omidyar Network, as part of a larger ongoing round.Founded in 2014 by Vamsi Krishna, Anand Prakash, and Pulkit Jain, Vedantu offers tuition to school students besides courses to prepare for entrance tests such as NEET and JEE. The company plans to deploy the funds to expand into new categories and invest in technology, artificial intelligence, and adaptive content.

Between May 2015 and Jan 2024, Vedantu had raised USD 319 M from Alteria Capital, Legend Capital, Stride Ventures, Accel India, Coatue Management, GGV Capital, Omidyar Network, ABC World Asia, Coatue Management, Tiger Global, WestBridge and others.For FY24, Vedantu had reported about INR 185 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 158 Cr in Net Loss.
