Edtech decacorn Byju's tops up Series F round by $67-M
Bengaluru-based edtech decacorn Byju's is topping up its Series F round, allotting 17,697 Series F shares at an issue price of INR 285,072 apiece to raise INR 504.5 crore (a little over USD 67 million). Chan Zuckerberg and GenGlobal Bright Corp have invested INR 280 crore and INR 224.5 crore, respectively. Byju's had already raised INR 2,200 crore, or USD 296 million, as part of the same round at a valuation of around USD 18 Billion last month. Byju's has also issued fresh shares worth USD 400 million to Epic Creations, a Redwood City, CA (US)-based reading platform, as part of the acquisition of Epic announced in July for around USD 500 million. Byju's has allotted 125,984 shares worth USD 400 million to Epic in a share swap agreement. It will settle the remaining purchase consideration of USD 100 million in cash.
