Edtech startup Codeyoung raises $5-M led by 12 Flags Group, Enzia Ventures

Bengaluru-based edtech startup Codeyoung has raised USD 5 million (INR 44.4 crore) in its Series A funding round, in a mix of primary and secondary transactions, led by 12 Flags Group and Enzia Ventures. The secondary component of this round provided an exit to early investor Guild Capital.Founded in 2020 by Shailendra Dhakad and Rupika Taneja, Codeyoung provides one-on-one online coaching for students aged 5-17 across mathematics, English, coding, and sciences. The firm claims to have over 20,000 students on its platform.The new funds will be used to expand its presence in the USA and Canada. Funds will also be allocated to build AI-driven personalisation tools and to introduce new learning categories.

In Sep 2020, Codeyoung had attracted about USD 0.55 M from Guild Capital.
