Edtech startup Klassroom’s Rs.39-Cr IPO oversubscribed 1.18x
The initial public offering (IPO) of Mumbai-headquartered edtech startup Klassroom has received bids for 20.74 lakh shares against a total offer size of 17.58 lakh shares, resulting in an oversubscription of 1.18x.The offering consists of a fresh issue of up to 19.89 lakh shares and an offer for sale of up to 4.66 lakh shares. With a price band set at INR 151-159, the company aims to raise INR 39 crore through this public issue. The company plans to utilize the net proceeds for technology upgrades, content development, marketing, brand building, and debt repayment.Retail individual investors (RIIs) subscribed their quota 1.56x with bids for 12.76 lakh shares against 8.18 lakh reserved. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) subscribed their portion 1.02x, while qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) remained at 68% subscription. For FY26, the company reported a net profit of INR 7.6 crore, a 162% increase from INR 2.9 crore in the previous year, with operating revenue rising 128% to INR 23 crore.
Between May 21 and Jan 25, Klassroom had attracted angel funding from ah! Ventures, LVX Ventures, Hem Angels, Startup Angels Network, Suniel Shetty, StartupLanes, Growth Sense and Others.
