Edtech startup Orphicy bags Rs 2.5 Cr
Ahmedabad-based online tutoring startup Orphicy has raised INR 2.5 crore (over $330,0000) from NRI tech enthusiasts, including those working in leadership positions at Facebook and McKinsey, at a valuation of INR 25 crore. India-based IMS Learning Resources also picked up 1% stake in the company. Apart from providing live online coaching for school curriculum (classes 5-10), the start-up also helps students prepare for NTSE/ Olympiads and other competitive exams. The proceeds from the funding will be utilised to strengthen its marketing initiatives, adding innovative technology-enabled interfaces and include newer modules to the curriculum.
