EQT appoints new co-heads for Asia private capital business

Swedish fund EQT has appointed Hari Gopalakrishnan and Nicholas Macksey as co-heads of its Private Capital Asia business. This leadership transition follows the recent elevation of Jean Eric Salata to the role of EQT Group chair. Salata will continue to serve as the chair of EQT Asia and lead the firm’s Private Capital Asia investment committees, maintaining involvement in strategic direction and investment decisions.The two newly appointed co-heads are long-serving executives who have been with EQT for nearly two decades, playing central roles in developing the firm’s Asia franchise into a platform for private markets. Macksey currently serves as a partner and head of the Mid-Market Opportunities strategy in Asia, while Gopalakrishnan, a founding member of the India team who joined in 2007, leads Private Capital India and serves as global co-head of services.
