EV maker Oben Electric raises Rs.50-Cr in Series A funding
Bengaluru-based EV manufacturer Oben Electric has raised INR 50 crore in a Series A funding round led by various overseas family office investors including Ambis Holding US, Kuberan Ventures, Karimjee Group from Africa, Mission Vertical, Sanjeev Saraf Family Office, and Pravek Kalp Family Office.The new funds will be used to expand the company’s distribution network to over 100 showrooms across 50 cities in India, enhance the product lineup and scale production capacity.Founded in 2020 by Madhumita Agrawal, Dinkar Agrawal, and Sagar Thakkar, Oben Electric manufactures electric motorcycles. It also makes critical EV components in-house. At present, it offers two electric motorcycle models and has a manufacturing facility in Bangalore, with a capacity exceeding 100,000 units,
Between 2022 and 2023, Oben EV had raised about USD 8.87 M from Dholakia Ventures, Stride Ventures, along with angel investors.
