Eyewear retailer Lenskart buys addl 1.8% stake in extended reality co. AjnaLens stake for Rs.8-Cr
Eyewear retailer Lenskart has acquired an additional 1.8% stake in Mumbai-headquartered extended reality (XR) firm AjnaLens , the parent company of Dimension NXG, for INR 8 Cr. This transaction increases Lenskart’s total shareholding in the company to 9.01%, up from 7.21%. The investment follows two previous acquisitions earlier this year, involving a 0.68% stake in February and a 1.69% stake in July. In total, Lenskart has invested INR 18.5 Cr across these three transactions to acquire a cumulative 4.17% additional stake in AjnaLens.Founded in 2014 by Pankaj Raut, Abhijit Patil, and Abhishek Tomar, AjnaLens provides hardware and software solutions using XR technology to serve sectors including defence and enterprise. Lenskart intends to use this investment to bolster its strategic partnership within the XR, AI, and smart wearable ecosystem, supporting the development of its smart eyewear offerings.
