Four Indian startups selected for Google’s AI-focused accelerator
Google has selected four Indian startups - Terrastack , Varaha Climate , Farmers for Forests , and Climitra Carbon - to participate in its inaugural AI-focused accelerator program, ‘Google DeepMind Accelerator: AI for the Planet (APAC)’. The program aims to address environmental challenges through the use of artificial intelligence. These startups will join a broader cohort of 16 participants from across the Asia Pacific region.Founded in 2024 by Aaryan Dangi and Milind Sohoni, Mumbai-based Terrastack develops a geospatial data platform for rural land intelligence.Pune-based Farmers for Forests, established in 2019 by Krutika Ravishankar, Aditya Avinashe, and Arti Dhar, incentivises forest conservation through a payment for ecosystem services model.Delhi NCR-based Climitra Carbon, founded in 2025 by Shubhankar Mihir Seth, Shaurya Sharma, and Aryaman Mihir Seth, focuses on converting waste biomass into bio-coal and biochar.Delhi NCR-based Varaha Climate, a WestBridge-backed firm founded in 2022 by Madhur Jain, Ankita Garg, and Vishal Kuchanur, operates carbon dioxide removal projects through regenerative agriculture.Over the next three months, the participating startups will receive access to the Google AI stack, tailored technical support, and mentorship to scale their sustainability-focused solutions. The program officially commenced with a bootcamp in Singapore, where participants will utilize frontier AI models to advance their environmental initiatives.
For FY25, Varaha had reported about INR 45 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 1 Cr in PAT.
