French renewable energy co. EDF’s India arm in JV with Actis for smart metering

Paris, France-based EDF Group’s unit EDF India , headquartered in Delhi, and global private equity investor Actis have announced a joint venture (JV) to develop and operate an Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) platform, to strengthen smart metering ecosystem and improve power distribution efficiency in India.EDF has been present in India over 25 years and is active in 3 key sectors in India: nuclear, renewables and services. Through a range of projects across the country, it supports the government in upgrading India’s electricity network, helping decarbonise energy and create smart cities that better serve the population.Globally, the EDF Group is a key player in power generation, distribution, trading, energy sales and energy services.
