Furniture retailer Pepperfry raises Rs.43-Cr from existing investors

Mumbai-based online furniture and home decor marketplace Pepperfry has raised INR 43.3 crore from existing investors including General Electric Pension Trust, Norwest Venture Partners, Goldman Sachs, Growth Equity Opportunity Fund and Panthera Growth Partners.General Electric Pension Trust led the round with an investment of INR 21.5 crore, followed by Norwest Venture Partners with INR 8.5 crore and Panthera with INR 6.4 crore. Goldman Sachs, Erste WV Gutersloh GmbH and Growth Equity Opportunity Fund Cayman Holdings Ltd contributed the rest.Founded in 2012 by Ambareesh Murty and Ashish Shah, Pepperfry operates through both online and offline channels, offering over 10,000 products, connecting customers with leading brands like Godrej, Springfit, and Spacewood.

Between Dec 2011 and Jul 2023, Pepperfry had attracted about USD 279 M from Aarin Capital, Bertelsmann India Investments, Norwest, Goldman Sachs, Pidilite Group, State Street Global Advisors and others.For FY24, Pepperfry had reported about INR 189 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 117 Cr in Net Loss.
