Haircare brand Arata attracts $4-M led by Unilever Ventures

Delhi NCR-based haircare and beauty brand Arata has raised USD 4 million (around INR 34 crore) in a Series A funding round led by Unilever Ventures, with participation from existing investor Skywalker Family Office and L’Oreal’s corporate venture capital fund BOLD. The fresh capital will be used towards innovation, consumer research, and distribution across the firm’s website, quick commerce platforms and marketplaces.Founded in 2018 by Dhruv Bhasin and Dhruv Madhok, Arata offers dermatologist-approved solutions that address issues like hair fall, dandruff, brittleness, and hair maintenance using non-toxic, cruelty-free ingredients.

Between Jan 2019 and Sep 2020, Arata had raised about USD 1.16 M from DSG Consumer Partners.For FY24, Arata had reported about INR 20.88 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 4.40 Cr in Net Loss.
