Healthcare-focused edtech platform Virohan raises Rs.15-Cr led by Blume Ventures

Gurugram-based healthcare-focused edtech firm Virohan has attracted INR 14.9 crore (USD 1.8 million) in an extended pre-Series B round led by Blume Ventures. The funding round, which comes after a gap of 14 months for the company, also saw the participation of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Venture Capital, a venture capital fund managed by MS&AD Ventures, along with Suneight OK Partnership (Suneight), Bharat Inclusive Technologies, GoldenBird MultiProduct LLP, VVAG Partners, as well as individual investors. Virohan has been valued at around INR 425 crore (USD 51 million) post-money.Virohan will issue 1,226 pre-Series B2 compulsorily convertible preference shares (CCPS) at INR 1,21,496 per share to raise INR 14.9 crore (USD 1.8 million). Blume Ventures infused INR 6.15 crore while Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Venture Capital and Suneight invested INR 4.08 crore and INR 2.48 crore, respectively.To date, the startup has raised around USD 15 million from investors including Rebright Partners, AngelList, and Elea Foundation among others.Founded in 2018 by Archit Jayasal, Kunaal Dudeja, Nalin Saluja, and Parul Dudeja, Virohan offers healthcare vocational training to students. It operates hybrid classrooms at over 20 campuses and online training across India.Virohan’s operating revenue surged 63.8% during FY23 to INR 10.65 crore from INR 6.5 crore in FY22. The company’s losses also rose 43.4% to INR 18.58 crore in FY23 as compared to INR 12.96 crore in FY22.
