Hospital chain The Eye Foundation raises $75-M from Verlinvest for 20% stake
Coimbatore-headquartered eye care chain The Eye Foundation has raised USD 75 million (INR 650 crore) from Verlinvest in return for a 20% stake. The proceeds of the investment will be used for new greenfield centers and brownfield acquisitions, for further strengthening of customer experience, and to increase the reach of the chain. Veda Corporate Advisors were the exclusive financial advisors to The Eye Foundation and its promoters.The Eye Foundation operates over 25 hospitals across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. The chain provides services across the entire gamut of eye diseases, such as cataract, retina, LASIK, glaucoma, ocular trauma and corneal transplants, and treats over a million patients annually through a mix of tertiary and secondary centres.
