HR-tech co Weekday raises $2.2 M led by Venture Highway
Weekday, a Bengaluru-based sourcing engine on autopilot that drives hiring through trusted references, has raised USD 2.2 million in a seed round led by Venture Highway with participation from angel investors. The Y-Combinator-backed startup will use the funds for hiring talent, and to deepen its footprint in the engineering market, and for expanding into other domains. Weekday is currently focused on companies hiring remote software engineers. Most of these companies are based in the US while most candidates are from India and Southeast Asia. By 2025, the firm expects to onboard over 250,000 active job seekers and around two million passive seekers, backed by peer references for recruiters from 1,000+ companies.
