HUL, UK govt and EY back 4 Indian startups
Transform, a joint initiative by Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), and EY, has offered grants and technical assistance for four Indian startups. These firms operate in the plastics circularity and smallholder agriculture sectors and were selected from over 150 applicants.Karnataka-based Terra Ecopreneurs , which works with over 3,000 tribal and marginal farmers on climate-smart coffee and pepper cultivation.West Bengal-based Royal Bengal Greentech, which has developed BhavisyaPlast , a patented bioplastic made from agricultural waste.Kerala-based Green Worms , which manages a recycled LDPE film supply chain, formalising employment for 4,800 waste collectors.Tamil Nadu-based AniMeta which deploys an AI-driven platform for veterinary care and antibiotic-free products for smallholder dairy farmers.
In May 2024, Green Worms had attracted about USD 0.96 M from Acumen Fund, Rainmatter Capital.For FY24, Green Worms had reported about INR 14 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 6 Cr in PAT.
