Hyperlocal news platform Way2News raises $14-M led by Westbridge Capital
Hyderabad-based hyperlocal news platform Way2News has raised USD 14 million in Series B round, led by existing investors WestBridge Capital and Sashi Reddi (Sri Capital).Founded in 2015 by Raju Vanapala, Way2News offers short news stories in local languages. In FY23, the company’s revenue was INR 28.99 crore, compared to INR 27.36 crore in FY22 and INR 11.65 crore in FY21.The company plans to use the fresh funds to deepen its engagement with communities consuming news in Telugu and Tamil, expand in Kannada and Malayalam in the coming quarters, scale operations, and enhance technology and expand its team.Way2News claims to be present in about 100 districts across South India, including 26 districts in Andhra Pradesh, 33 in Telangana, and 39 in Tamil Nadu.
