Hyperlocal puja items deliverer Prabhuji Online raises funding
Kolkata-based hyperlocal delivery startup Prabhuji Online has raised funding in a pre-series A round from Singapore and India-based angel investors. Among the new investors are former LG India and Croma director Rahul Tayal, former ANZ Grindlays Bank Australia director Saahil Mohta, Deutsche Bank Singapore director Prashant Tayal, Saumya Bajaj of World Bank, Ice Cube Holidays MD Jaspreet Bhatia and IT industry veteran Sumit Keshav. Tayal has joined the board and will aid the marketing and branding strategy part of the business. Existing angel investor Ujjwal Deepak has also participated in the current round and increased his stake. The startup, which delivers fresh flowers and prayer items (pooja samagri), plans to expand into providing 'panditji services', organising devotional singers and religious and spiritual tourism going forward. It also plans to expand across other cities.
