IndiaRF to acquire controlling stake in specialty chemicals maker Anthea Aromatics via Rs.1,000-Cr d
India Resurgence Fund will invest INR 1,000 crore in Mumbai-based Anthea Aromatics for a controlling stake. The primary infusion will be for INR 270 crore (27%) and the remaining will be secondary purchase of shares from ICICI Venture and other non-promoter shareholders.Founded by Dr. Vincent Paul, Anthea Aromatics is engaged in the manufacture and export of a range of specialty chemicals. It produces fragrance and flavor chemicals, catering to key F&F multinationals and sells products in North and South America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Anthea also produces specialty chemicals used in pharmaceuticals, flame retardant polymers and agrochemicals.
In April 2016, Anthea had attracted about INR 120 Cr from ICICI Venture.
