Inspira Global to buy controlling stake in Burger King India operator RBA

Inspira Global, promoted by Aayush Agrawal and Madhusudan Agrawal, will buy a controlling stake in Mumbai-based publicly listed Restaurant Brands Asia , which operates the Burger King restaurant chain in India, by buying out Everstone Capital’s stake for INR 460 crore and a fresh capital infusion of INR 1,500 crore.Inspira Global will invest through its food and beverage arm, Lenexis Foodworks, which has been in the quick-service restaurant business for more than a decade. The transactions will take Inspira’s stake in RBA close to 35%, triggering an open offer for an additional 26% stake at a price of INR 1,456 crore.Inspira has diversified interests spanning real estate, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, luxury home products and clean energy.

Between Mar 2014 and May 2020, Restaurant Brands Asia had attracted about USD 129 M from Everstone.
