Japan’s Mizuho to acquire over 60% in Avendus Capital from KKR & Ranu Vohra for $524-M
Mizuho Securities Co. (subsidiary of Japan’s Mizuho Financial Group) is to acquire an over 60% stake in Mumbai-based financial services firm Avendus Capital for USD 524 million. Private Equity firm KKR and Avendus ’ co-founder and executive vice chairman, Ranu Vohra, are divesting their shareholdings in the transaction.Founded in 1999 by Ranu Vohra, Gaurav Deepak and Kaushal Aggarwal, Avendus offers financial services via its NBFC (non-banking financial company), investment banking, asset management, AIF (alternative investment fund) products and equity advisory services units.
Between Nov-15 and Dec-25, Avendus Capital had attracted over USD 291 M from KKR, Gaja Capital, and others.For FY24, Avendus Capital had reported about INR 1,000 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 118 Cr in PAT.
