JFE Engg to acquire 25% stake in Antony Waste Handling’s Andhra projects for Rs.43-Cr; to serve as E

Japan’s JFE Engineering Corporation has invested INR 43 crore ( Japanese yen 750 million) to acquire a 25% equity stake in special purpose vehicles (SPVs) established by Thane-based,publicly listed Antony Waste Handling Cell Ltd for two waste-to-energy projects in Andhra Pradesh. This transaction represents Japan's first foreign direct investment in India's waste-to-energy sector.The investment is directed towards projects located in Kadapa and Kurnool, structured as project-level partnerships. JFE Engineering India will also serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for both facilities.
