KKR buys out co-founder Vohra’s 6% stake in Avendus Capital at Rs.11,500-Cr valuation
Global private equity firm KKR has bought out co-founder Ranu Vohra's 6% stake in Avendus Capital . This transaction values the financial services firm at INR 11,500 crore and facilitates a potential sale of the company.Founded in 1999 by Gaurav Deepak, Ranu Vohra, and Kaushal Aggarwal, the Avendus Group offers investment banking, asset management, NBFC (non-banking financial company), AIF (alternative investment fund), and equity advisory services.KKR had previously invested USD 115 million in 2015 to acquire a controlling stake, followed by an additional USD 55 million in later rounds, bringing its total investment to over INR 980 crore. KKR currently holds a 63% stake in Avendus Capital.Stakeholders in the firm include Gaja Capital, Alliance Tire Group’s founder Yogesh Mahansaria, other co-founders, and employees. Avendus, on a consolidated basis, reported a net profit of INR 170 crore in the first nine months in fiscal 2025, compared to INR 118 crore in fiscal 2024 and INR 138 crore in fiscal 2023.
Between May-00 and Aug-17, Avendus Capital had attracted about USD 191 M from Americorp, Infinity Ventures, Eastgate Capital, KKR, Gaja Capital, and others.
