KKR to pick up minority stake in digital ticketing platform BookMyShow
Global private equity firm KKR is to make a minority investment in Mumbai-based entertainment and ticketing platform BookMyShow . Avendus Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for BookMyShow, while Trilegal acted as legal advisor.Founded in 2007 by Ashish Hemrajani and others, BookMyShow provides a digital ticketing platform for movies, live entertainment, and experiences. The company plans to use the new capital to support growth, scale live entertainment business, including bringing global artists to Indian audiences.
Between Mar 2007 and Dec 2019, BookMyShow had attracted about USD 242 M from Accel India, Accel USA, Capital18, Elevation Capital, Stripes Group, TPG Growth, and others.For FY25, BookMyShow had reported about INR 1,092 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 253 Cr in PAT.
