Lender to schools Varthana raises $10-M from Symbiotics, Triple Jump

Bengaluru-based school finance provider Varthana Finance has raised approximately USD 10 million in debt. This funding round includes a USD 5 million non-convertible debenture investment from Switzerland-based Symbiotics, and a 5 million euro external commercial borrowing from Netherlands-based Triple Jump.Founded in 2013, Varthana is a non-banking financial company that provides loans to affordable private schools and students across states.

Between May 2013 and Jan 2026, Varthana had attracted about USD 178 M in equity and debt from WaterEquity, Blue Earth Capital, Franklin Templeton India, responsAbility, ChrysCapital, Elevar Equity, Kaizen PE, LGT Venture Philanthropy, Omidyar Network and others.
