Marine robotics startup Vikra Ocean Tech raises $1-M from Finvolve, India Accelerator
Chennai-based Vikra Ocean Tech has raised USD 1 million in a seed round from Finvolve and India Accelerator.Founded in 2019, Vikra Ocean Tech develops an ocean robotics ecosystem that includes deep-water remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), autonomous surface vessels (ASVs), amphibious crawling robots, and imaging and communication systems. The company's unified control platform targets applications in defence, subsea inspection, hydrographic surveys, and disaster response.Vikra Ocean Tech has secured innovation grants under the Innovations for Defense Excellence (iDEX) framework from the Indian Army and the Indian Coast Guard.The startup plans to use the new funds to expand manufacturing, strengthen its sales pipeline across defence and public sector undertakings, and build recurring revenue streams through service contracts and annual maintenance agreements.
