Material recycling enabler ScrapUncle raises Rs.22-Cr led by Orios, Acumen Fund

Delhi NCR-based cleantech startup ScrapUncle has raised INR 22 crore (about USD 2.4 million) in a pre-Series A funding round by Orios Venture Partners and Acumen Fund, with participation from Upaya Social Ventures, Venture Catalysts, We Founder Circle, Soonicorn Ventures, and angel investor Bharat Jaisinghani. The company previously raised INR 60 lakh from CarDekho cofounder Amit Jain on Shark Tank India and an additional INR 3.7 crore in 2023 from other investors.Founded in 2019 by Mukul Chhabra, ScrapUncle enables the doorstep pickup of household recyclable materials through gig workers. The company focuses on recycling items such as e-waste, paper, metals, cartons, plastics, textiles, and end-of-life vehicles.The new funds will be used for expanding its presence in Delhi NCR, preparing for app availability in other metro cities, and covering capital expenditure for fulfilment infrastructure and a future in-house e-waste recycling facility. Additionally, the capital will support workforce and technology expansion.
