Microsoft, Salesforce consider acquisition of HR-platform Darwinbox: report
Mumbai-based human capital management (HCM) suite Darwinbox , a KKR-backed company, is drawing interest from Microsoft, Salesforce, and ADP for a potential buyout as it moves toward a planned IPO. The firm is currently estimated to be valued between USD 1.8-2.0 Billion.Founded in 2015 by Jayant Paleti, Chennamaneni, and Chaitanya Peddi, Darwinbox provides human resource and payroll services, including recruitment, onboarding, leave management, and people analytics. The company currently serves over 1,000 clients, including businesses such as Adani, Mahindra, JSW, and Swiggy.The firm has raised USD 290 million to date, with existing investors including KKR, Partners Group, 3one4 Capital, Lightspeed, Sequoia, Salesforce, Microsoft, and TCV. Following a 50% increase in operating revenue to INR 533.9 crore in FY25, the company is prioritising international expansion in North America, the Asia Pacific, West Asia, and Europe.
Between Jul 2016 and Apr 2025, Darwinbox had attracted about $291-M from KKR, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan , Partners Group, 3ONE4 Capital, Endiya Partners, Lightspeed Ventures, Peak XV Partners, Others.For FY25, Darwinbox had reported about INR 285 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 179 Cr in Net Loss.
