MS Dhoni invests in online content platform Kuku FM
Mumbai-based online content platform Kuku FM has received an investment from former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni, who has also joined the company as its brand ambassador for its microdrama app, Kuku TV.Founded in 2018 by Lal Chand Bisu, Vinod Kumar Meena, and Vikas Goyal, Kuku operates multiple content platforms, including Kuku TV for short-format video, Kuku FM for audio storytelling, and Guru for edutainment. The platform is claimed to have achieved over 350 million installs across its apps and features more than 20,000 titles in various languages and formats. Kuku TV, its microdrama platform, has accumulated over 180 million downloads. As part of the partnership, Kuku launched a campaign featuring Dhoni to promote its short-format content offerings.The company is also expanding into theatrical production, with its first Hindi feature film, Indian Institute of Zombies (IIZ), and is developing AI-led content formats, including microdramas.Additionally, Kuku is reported to have engaged four bankers to facilitate an initial public offering (IPO) aimed at raising up to INR 3,000 crore, approximately USD 330 million.
Between Sep 2018 and Oct 2025, KuKuFM had attracted about USD 157 M from Bitkraft, Granite Asia, IFC, Krafton, Paramark Ventures, Tribe Capital, Vertex, 3ONE4 Capital, CapitalG, FounderBank Capital, India Quotient, RB Investments, SWC Global Fund, Verlinvest, Vertex and others.For FY25, KuKuFM had reported about INR 242 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 153 Cr in PAT.
