Multiples PE raises $640-M for fourth fund; targets final closure at $1-B

Multiples Alternate Asset Management has raised about USD 640 million for its fourth India-dedicated deployment platform. The fund is targeting a final closure of USD 1 Billion. Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), IFC and State Bank of India (SBI) are among the limited partners in the new fund. Multiples, founded by former ICICI Venture veteran Renuka Ramnath in 2009, raised the first fund of USD 405 million in 2011, and closed its second fund of USD 700 million (including a USD 150-million co-investment pool) in 2017. it raised a USD 640 million-third fund in 2019. The first two rounds delivered an average internal rate of return (IRR) of 30% to investors.
