Omega Hospitals acquires cancer-focused Cytecare Hospitals in Bengaluru
Hyderabad-based Omega Hospitals, backed by Morgan Stanley Private Equity, has acquired Bengaluru-based Cytecare Hospitals . This acquisition marks Omega’s entry into the North Bengaluru micro-market. Spark Capital Investment Banking advised Cytecare Hospitals on the transaction.Established in 2016 by Dr Ferzaan Engineer, Suresh Ramu, and Himanshu Shah, Cytecare is a 150-bed NABH-accredited oncology centre located on the airport road. It offers oncology-focused clinical services, patient care, and research. Omega plans to develop Cytecare as its centre of excellence for quaternary cancer care, with investment earmarked for clinical talent and high-end medical equipment.Omega operates 14 hospitals with about 2,000 beds across five states in cities including Jabalpur, Tirupati, Surat, Vijayawada, and Yamuna Nagar. Morgan Stanley Private Equity invested about INR 500 crore in Omega Hospitals in June 2024.
In Jun 2018, Cytecare Hospitals had attracted about USD 31 M from Goldman Sachs.
