Online marketplace for rural SMEs Lal10 raises 5.5 M

Lal10, a Delhi- and New York, USA-based online wholesale marketplace for rural SMEs in India, has attracted USD 5.5 million led by Yuj Ventures (backed by the family office of Sid Yog, the founding partner of emerging markets focused investment firm, The Xander Group) and Beyond Capital Ventures. Of the seed round, USD 4 million was invested as equity and the rest as debt. Lal10 claims to have connected 1,800 SMEs across 28 rural districts across India to global retailers.
