Optical solutions provider for data centres LightSpeed Photonics raises $6.5 M led by pi Ventures
Hyderabad-based LightSpeed Photonics , a deep-tech startup providing optical interconnect technology for data centres, has raised USD 6.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by pi Ventures. The investment brings the company's total funding to about USD 8.5 million, including grants. The round also saw participation from 500 Global, Indian Accelerator, and returning investors 8X Ventures and Java Capital, alongside several Bay Area angels.Founded in 2021, LightSpeed Photonics develops compact, energy-efficient optical interconnects designed to address data bottlenecks in AI and high-performance computing systems.LightSpeed plans to use the new capital to establish an R&D facility for accelerating pilot turnaround and to bolster collaborations with OEM, EMS, and ODM partners while commercializing its product line through pilot projects in emerging data centres.
Between Apr 2023 and Jul 2024, LightSpeed Photonics had attracted about USD 3 M from 8X Ventures, Growx Ventures, Java Capital, Pi Ventures and YourNest.
