Over 30 angel funds form industry association

The Association of Prolific Angels in India (APAII) has been formed by more than 30 angel funds, family offices, micro VCs, and individual investors to strengthen domestic early-stage capital. The association is supported by TiE Mumbai and is led by Satish Kataria as the first Executive Director.APAII will act as a bridge between angel investors and policymakers. The organisation aims to increase the number of angel investors in India to 1 million and intends to mobilise USD 3 Billion in early-stage capital over the next five years.The association plans to focus on capital formation, policy advocacy, investor education, governance, and due diligence. Its efforts include expanding the angel ecosystem beyond major cities into Tier II and Tier III locations to support the development of startups
