Pharma co FDC may spin off OTC brands, raise Rs.1,200-Cr

Mumbai-based pharmaceuticals firm FDC Ltd is looking to demerge its top selling non-prescription brands into a separate entity and raise up to INR 1,200 crore by diluting a significant minority stake. PwC India is working with the company on the demerger and creation of the new unit. The major brands to be brought under the new entity include ORS brand Electral and energy drink Enerzal. The over-the-counter (OTC) business has a revenue of around INR 300 crore and is likely to be valued at INR 2,500 crore.
