Piramal Alternatives exits Biodeal Pharma with 20% IRR

Piramal Alternatives has exited its investment in Noida-based Biodeal Pharmaceuticals , achieving an internal rate of return (IRR) exceeding 20% following the full redemption of its INR 110 crore investment. The transaction was facilitated through the Piramal Structured Credit Opportunities Fund.Founded in 2005 by Anurag Kumar, Biodeal focuses on nasal formulations. It serves customers across multiple global markets and maintains a focus on quality, compliance, and innovation.The company utilised the investment to enhance its manufacturing capabilities, governance framework, and operational discipline. During the investment period, the firm reported revenue growth of 45% year-on-year in FY25 and 60% in FY26, alongside improvements in EBITDA margins.

Piramal Enterprises first invested in Biodeal in Mar 2024.For FY25, Biodeal Pharmaceuticals had reported about INR 205.86 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 15.18 Cr in PAT.
