Piramal Enterprises has sold its entire investment of 20% in Shriram Investment Holdings to Shriram Ownership Trust (SOT), a unit of Shriram Capital (the holding company of Chennai-based Shriram Group), for INR 1,440 crore.Shriram Group offers a range of financial products in commercial vehicle financing, retail financing, chit funds, housing finance, life insurance, general insurance, stockbroking, distribution of financial products, and wealth advisory through its entities.
Between 2013 and 2014, Piramal Enterprises had invested over $750-M in various units of the Shriram Group, including Shriram City Union Finance, Shriram Capital and Shriram Finance. . Piramal started to exit from its investment in the Shriram Group starting in 2019.
