Roof-top solar startup SolarSquare raises $40-M in Series B from Lightspeed, Lightrock, others
Mumbai-based SolarSquare , a rooftop solar startup, has raised USD 40 million in its Series B funding round, led by Lightspeed Ventures with participation from Lightrock India. Existing investors Elevation Capital, Chris Sacca’s Lowercarbon, Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter Capital and Gruhas Proptech also invested in the round.The company plans to deploy the new funds to expand and to strengthen technology. It also aims to double its team size from the current 800 people in the next 12 to 18 months.Founded in 2015 by Neeraj Jain and Nikhil Nahar, SolarSquare aims to make rooftop solar accessible to a wider population.
Between Sep 2021 and Mar 2024, SolarSquare had raised about USD 20 M from Better Capital, Good Capital, Lowercarbon Capital, Rainmatter Capital, Symphony International Holdings and Gruhas Proptech.
