Rooftop solar startup SolarSquare raises $55-M led by B Capital
Mumbai-based rooftop solar startup SolarSquare has raised USD 50-55 million in a new funding round led by B Capital, valuing the company at USD 450-500 million. Existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners and Elevation Capital also participated in the round.Founded in 2015 by Shreya Mishra, Neeraj Jain, and Nikhil Nahar, SolarSquare designs, installs, and maintains rooftop solar systems for households and housing societies, while also facilitating consumer access to permits and third-party financing.The company plans to use the capital to support its expansion into 50 cities over two years, enhance its technology infrastructure, hire talent, and invest in brand development.
Between Sep 2021 and Dec 2024, SolarSquare had attracted about $ 60 M from Better Capital, Climate Angels Fund, Good Capital, Lowercarbon Capital, Rainmatter Capital, Symphony International Holdings, Elevation Capital, Gruhas, Lightrock India, Lightspeed Ventures and Others.For FY25, SolarSquare had reported about INR 354 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 37 Cr in Net Loss.
