Semi-urban focused E-comm platform Wheelocity attracts $15-M
Chennai-based Wheelocity , an e-commerce platform serving semi-urban India, has raised USD 15 million in funding in a round led by existing investor Lightspeed Ventures with participation from Alteria Capital, Anicut Capital and also the startup’s founder.The company, which started as a B2B (business-to-business) e-commerce platform for fresh produce, now operates as a B2C (business-to-consumer) platform and is building access into the deep parts of the country that were hitherto unconnected by e-commerce. It claims to service over 1 million households across 3,500 towns and villages.
In Jun-24, Wheelocity had raised about $5.6 M in the Series A 1 round led by Lightspeed. In May-22, it had raised USD 12 M in its Series A round from Anicut Capital and Lightspeed.
