Shastra VC launches $100-M fund to back deeptech startups

Bengaluru-based Shastra VC has launched its third fund for USD 100-M, to support early-stage startups within the deeptech, AI, and climate science sectors. The firm aims to deploy investments ranging from USD 500,000 to USD 3 Million into intellectual property-led ventures.The firm was founded in 2022 by Vasant Rao, Avijeet Alagathi, and Ashis Nayak. Shastra VC focuses on sectors including space and defence technology, artificial intelligence, and renewable sciences, supporting companies from the seed stage through Series A and beyond. The firm utilizes an advisory network featuring experts from industries such as biotech, semiconductors, climate, and space.
