Shiv Nadar family investment firm acquires HDFC’s education services arm for Rs.192-Cr

HDFC Bank has sold its entire 100% stake in HDFC Education and Development Services Pvt Ltd (HDFC Edu) to Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi) Pvt Ltd, the successful bidder, for INR 192 crore.Vama Sundari Investments, set up in 2008, is a “core investment company” run by the family of HCL founder Shiv Nadar.The all cash deal will occur in two phases: a 91% stake will be divested by October 31, 2024, while the rest will be sold before June 30, 2025.HDFC Edu was founded on November 17, 2011, and operates in the segments like school management, vocational training, and educational consultancy. It has reported incomes of INR 10.02 crore in FY22, INR 16.18 crore in FY23, and INR 18.18 crore in FY24.
