SIDBI, NSIC to invest Rs.300-Cr in former KKR India head Sanjay Nayar's VC fund Sorin
The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and the National Small Industries Corporation Ltd (NSIC) through the INR 10,000 crore Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund, managed by NSIC Venture Capital Fund Ltd (NVCFL), will together invest INR 300 crore in Sorin Investments, a venture capital fund led by former KKR India head Sanjay Nayar. Sorin, a tech-focused fund co-founded by Nayar and Angad Banga, raised INR 1,000 crore in August this year. It has deployed around INR 80 crore in two startups so far and plans to invest about INR 70 crore in two more transactions in 2023.
