New York-based private markets investment firm Siguler Guff has raised USD 500 million for its India-dedicated “Global Emerging Markets Growth Opportunities Fund (GEMGO II)”. The fund is supported by a global investor base, including pension plans, family offices, financial institutions, foundations, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.The firm plans to use the capital to provide growth equity to businesses with an average investment size of approximately USD 50 million, specifically targeting companies that benefit from domestic consumption across the consumer, health care, financial services, and technology sectors.The firm has already begun allocating capital from the new fund into companies including Trimex Foods, the Rajasthan Royals and La Renon.
